The 4-Day Ha Giang Loop Tour Itinerary
The Ha Giang Loop 4-day itinerary is designed for those who want to fully immerse themselves in Northern Vietnam’s most stunning landscapes. Over four days, you’ll conquer epic mountain passes like the Ma Pi Leng, trek through hidden trails, and visit authentic ethnic villages off the beaten path. Each day is packed with unique experiences, from savoring local cuisine to spending nights in cozy homestays and boutique hotels. This journey balances thrilling adventures with meaningful cultural encounters, offering a deeper connection to the region.
DAY 0: Transfer to Ha Giang from Ha Noi ( Around 5 hours)
3pm or 8pm: Pick you up from hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter, or Airport, Sapa, Cat Ba, Ninh Binh
9-9.15 PM:. Checking in Ha Giang Cozy Hostel in Ha Giang City, offering free bed or privater room (extra cost).
DAY 1: Ha Giang City – Thuan Hoa – Quan Ba – Yen Minh – Dong Van
Highlight: Thuan Hoa Pass – Chin Khoanh Pass – Tham Ma Pass – Moon Rocks- Lao Xa Village – Dong Van Town
-7:30-8:15 AM: To start your day, you can enjoy a tasty breakfast at Cozy Hostel.
– 8:30 AM: Meet your easy rider tour guide and be presented with an introductory briefing about your journey ahead. They will prepare you with a helmet along with knee/elbow pads, and away you go on the motorbike together. We head off towards Thuan Hoapass, where you can take in the beautiful scenery of the mountains. After, we go to Lung Pu waterfall – this is a scenic spot where you can swim.
-12:00 PM: Lunch will be served at Trang Kim
-1:30 PM: We continue to drive through the picturesque Chin Khoanh Pass to Dong Van Town. Next, visit Tham Ma Pass, Lao Xa Village.
-5:30 PM: Arrive to Dong Van Hotel in the end of afternoon. Here, you’ll enjoy a local “Happy water” and KARAOKE after a long day of riding.
DAY 2: Dong Van town – Lung Cu flag Pole – Chinese Border – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Nho Que river – Dong Van town. (90 Km)
Highlight: Lung Cu Flag Point – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Nho Que River – Dong Van Town
– 8:30 AM: After breakfast, begin the day by the new experience “Go to the Dong Van Market” (if it’s Sunday, you have a chance to see the Dong Van weekly local fair where the locals trade and exchange all goods for their life).
Next visit Lung Cu Flag Point, Lo Lo Chai village. You will be able to see the China border and when you climb up, a line separates our country to the outsider.
Continue the adventure, we come to an Old village of the Tay and Dzao people for hundred years named Thien Huong Village. You will feast your eyes towards The Ancient Banyan Tree and emerge yourself in winding roads around a serene village.
– 12.15 PM: Have lunch at Dong Van town.
– 1:30 PM: We keep going to the Ma Pi Leng Pass, well known for its abrupt cliffs and breath-taking views. After that, head off to Nho Que river and enjoy a boat trip on emerald waters. Then do 30 minutes walk thru Sky path.
– 5:00 PM: In the end of the day, we go back to Dong Van Town and spend night in a hotel. You can definitely explore the Ancient Town at night time.
DAY 3: Dong Van – Meo Vac – Du Gia Waterfall – Du Gia Village (105 Km)
Highlights: Happiness Road – Sky Path – Meo Vac Town- Bamboo Boat Ride– Du Gia Village
– 8:40 AM: Following breakfast in Dong Van, we head to Ma Pi Leng Pass. You’ll have the opportunity to trek the Sky Path and take in the panoramic view of Nho Que River. On the way, you’ll travel through the rustic villages and epic mountains of Meo Vac, Mau Due.
-14.00 PM. Mau Due is 25km from the previous stop. At this point, you will get to experience a bamboo boat ride on the Ngoc Long River. We jump on this traditional raft and head into a remarkable cave where you can swim.
– 17.00 PM, We spend a night at Du Gia Homestay, located in the middle of green rice fields. Here, we and new comers will have a really big party with a home-cooked dinner by the local host family. Don’t forget to try the “Happy Water”, the Corn Wine, which is so unique and takes your party to the next level.
DAY 4: Du Gia – Lung Tam Village – Quan Ba – Ha Giang City (110km)
(Return to Ha Noi or Sapa, airport, Ninh Binh, Cat Ba…)
Highlights: A natural waking morning – Du Gia Waterfall- Lung Tam weaving village –Heaven Gate- Ha Giang City
This is the last day of your Ha Giang Loop journey, together we will wake up to enjoy the peacefulness of the local’s daily life in morning light.
– 8:30 AM: Enjoy breakfast with a cup of tea or coffee and say good bye to the local hosts. From here, we head on to Du Gia Waterfall before we begin the drive back to Ha Giang City.
-10:30 AM: Visit Lung Tam. The village is occupied by Hmong ethnic minorities, who have a high quality skill set at making textile products.
-12.30 Having Lunch at Nam Dam Village.
-4:00 PM: Arrive back at Cozy Hostel in Ha Giang and onboard a Limousine bus back to Hanoi.
– 10:00 PM: Arrive in Ha Noi Old Quarter ( 5 hours bus) or Sapa, Ninh Binh, Cat Ba
